We do not need to look at research studies to notice the growing number of disengaged Catholics in our churches. Unfortunately, the statistics will only confirm this reality. The most disheartening fact that these studies reveal to us is that the majority of the disengaged are our young adults. The Church now faces a critical challenge as well as an opportunity. As ministry leaders, we need to recognize the challenge and embrace it as an opportunity to grow and continue our mission.
